SGC Oxford - Web Developer

A skilled and highly motivated full stack Web Developer is needed to play a critical role in the continuous development of the SGC’s Oxford, Global and ULTRA-DD websites.


Reporting to the Bioinformatics Developer within the Research Informatics team at SGC Oxford, this position will be responsible for managing and developing our web sites and working with SGC scientists located at SGC sites around the world to develop novel, cutting-edge data capture, dissemination and visualisation tools. Day-to-day interaction with key external informatics collaborators will also occur with an opportunity to drive the development of new software technologies in this context.


You will hold a higher scientific or computing degree (or near completion) or equivalent, experience in developing, delivering and maintaining websites using Drupal, Django, HTML5, JavaScript, CSS3 and Python. As part of this role you will be able to gain experience in cutting edge technologies such as Haxe.


You will be able to work both as part of a team and independently. The role requires strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise, and re-prioritise work in order to meet changing deadlines. You will also have excellent communication skills, written and oral, communicating with all levels of users (internal and external).

Salary: 
Grade 7: £31,076 - £38,183 p.a.
