Oxford Symposium on Rare Diseases 2013: 'Protein misfolding and aggregation'

We are pleased to announce the Oxford Symposium on Rare Diseases 2013: Protein Misfolding and Aggregation.

This scientific symposium will take place in St. Catherine’s College Oxford, UK,  on 31^st Jan -1^st Feb, 2013.

The main goal is to bring together academic and industrial experts to share their insights in five areas:

• Mechanism of protein folding
• Misfolding and aggregation diseases
• Protein quality control networks
• Rare disease genetics
• Vision of small molecule therapy

Recognising the impact Rare Diseases have upon several different communities, our vision is to embrace all stakeholders in the discussions – including academia, industry, charities/foundations, clinicians and patient groups. We hope that this symposium constitutes the first step towards building an international partnership in small molecule drug discovery for misfolding and aggregation diseases, where there remains a huge unmet medical need.
