The SGC (Structural Genomics Consortium) is seeking an experienced Postdoctoral Scientist to provide protein production support for internal and external collaborative projects.
You will have excellent knowledge and experience of expressing proteins in bacterial and eukaryotic (including mammalian) expression systems. You will be primarily responsible for producing and purifying proteins in large-scale in support of assay development/screening for a range of projects. An aptitude for trouble-shooting technical problems and precise approach to record keeping are essential. In addition, the successful candidate might have some experience in leading early stage projects by designing protein production strategies as required, and the ability/knowledge to coordinate other project activities to advance projects to the next milestone. The candidate must have the confidence and ability to communicate and collaborate effectively.
You will hold a PhD or equivalent experience in protein biochemistry and have the ability to work under minimal supervision.
