Are you about to finish your PhD and interested in the global networks and business of science?
The SGC (www.thesgc.org), YCharOS (www.ycharos.com), and EUbOPEN (www.eubopen.org) are looking for a highly motivated PhD scientist, or a MSc level scientist with experience in generating CRISPR knock-outs, to project manage a community engagement effort. The objective of this project is to crowd-source knock-out cell lines for all 600 E3 ligases encoded by the human genome, in the appropriate cell types. The scientific goal of the project is to use the set of knock-out lines to characterize the specificity of commercial antibodies (YCharOS) and of PROTACS in development.
The project manager will be responsible for assembling existing cell lines, identifying the gaps, and mobilizing and organizing the community to create the remaining ones.
The ideal candidate will have excellent project management skills and be able to energize a large community effort. Ideally, they should also have experience in cell line generation and CRISPR knock-out technology. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with the scientific and administrative teams of SGC, YCharOS, and EUbOPEN, in Canada and in Europe.
If you are passionate about engaging with the scientific community to solve complex scientific challenges, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.
This is a Post-Doctoral Fellow position supported by the SGC and Mitacs.
Interested applicants should contact Professor Aled Edwards and submit a CV and cover letter to
