Programme Director - UK Knowledge Exchange Spine (New Therapeutics)

 

We are seeking to appoint a Programme Director – UK Knowledge Exchange Spine (New Therapeutics) to lead the established UKSPINE team.
 
 
 
This is a unique and exciting opportunity for an individual with exceptional relationship management and leadership skills to drive, develop and direct the UK Knowledge Exchange Spine funded by Research England, and led by Oxford in collaboration with the University of Birmingham.
 
 
 
You will have excellent relationship management and programme development and delivery skills with a genuine passion for education. You will be an experienced policy leader with a background in the sector’s professional bodies such as the Academy of Medical Sciences, RCUK, NIHR or similar and with relevant NHS experience to take a strategic development approach when delivering this Research England CCF award.
 
 
 
You will have a PhD in relevant scientific discipline, with significant post-qualification research experience and management experience and evidence of working collaboratively with all levels of colleagues, including research and teaching faculty and senior administrative staff in academia and industry, and evidence of a collaborative style that emphasises partnership and teamwork. You will bring experience of operational leadership and delivery to challenging targets, with the sophistication to work across a complex academic organisation. You will demonstrate the ability to inspire enthusiasm for, and ensure the implementation of, an ambitious educational agenda.
 
 
 
Working knowledge of the drug development process from target discovery to early phase clinical trials is a key requirement, as is strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills. The ability to travel to other UKSpine network sites would be a significant advantage.
 
 
 
This position is a fixed term contract until 30 June 2022 in the first instance and is funded by the Research England.

Salary: 
Grade 10: £55,750 - £64,605 with a discretionary range to £70,579 per annum
